ArmA3: Evac Convoy

It’s the mid-2030s in Bohemia Interactive’s ArmA3, where NATO forces deployed in the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea are trying to hold off a massive Iranian military offensive from the east.

Evac Convoy is a – surprise, surprise – escort mission. The idea came to me after realizing, that there are quite a few user made “destroy convoy x” missions, but not a single one that does exactly the reverse. It is my first ArmA3 release, but the second ArmA3 mission I have worked on. The mission is singleplayer only, features (more or less) tactical infantry and vehicle combined operations gameplay. The development time of this mission was something between one to two weeks, in which I wrote the (rather short) design doc, the scripts and fixed many, many bugs…

In Evac Convoy, you are taking over the role of the CSAT soldier Sgt. Amin Abbas. Your mission objective is to safely escort a convoy from Air Station Mike-26 to the military range at Agia Marina.

Situation: The NATO deployed troops on Stratis and is now slow but steadily conquering the island. They are estimated at 90% strength and their morale is good. The enemy is using mortars and armored combat vehicles, as well as fast striking fire teams all over the island, advancing from the south west coast.

Right now, we are evacuating all personnel from our Firefly base at Air Station Mike-26.

You are in control of a BTR-K Kamysh IFV, and a 8 man fire team to escord the second convoy. The first already headed out one hour ago, the third and last will follow shortly.

No further support is available at this time.
